Sept 26 - 27 Atlas

Postby cuzican on Sun Sep 27, 2009 7:42 pm

Saturday

Hooked up with StarcreekYJ and headed off for the Plane Crash. Along the way we met up with several Jeeps from Chinook Country Jeep Club. Traveled together off and on to the crash site and back. No snow so we made it all the way up and parked by the tail section.

Highlights included:
- bead blown on right rear tire by Cuzican backing into a mudhole to let quads past. Ether and a match to remount.
- sidewall cut on right front tire by Cuzican, had to install spare
- bead blown on right front tire by StarcreekYJ dropping into a mud hole on the way out. Installed spare. This was right after one of the Chinook Country jeeps blew a bead in the previous mud hole.
- Cuzican jeep blowing blue smoke

Sunday

Took the Atlas road north through the washout and over to Dutch Creek./ Back around to Atlas via the Kanaskis highway. Uneventful except for clouds of blue smoke.

Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be.

Sounds like Cuzican needs a stroker :D

I am jealous that we couldn't be there. I am looking forward to getting the YJ back to the plane crash as that was one of the last places I took it.
If you want to run with the big dogs, you have to be able to pee in the tall grass.

Had a great time. It's nice to get out and go through some of the mud holes that I had bypassed in the past.
I had one other issue, when I tried to winch out of the mud hole that I popped my bead in it wouldn't pull any load, So I had to be winched out by Cuzican. Found a bad ground after all was said and done.
